A family photoshoot in Paris is the perfect way to celebrate what your kids love most, and for the Carr family that is ballet. Both daughters are ballerinas, so we photographed them en pointe in front of the Eiffel Tower, on Pont Alexandre III and at the Louvre, alongside relaxed family portraits. As a Paris photographer, these ballerinas in Paris are still some of my favorite Parisian family portraits I’ve done.

The Carr Family: Two Ballerinas in Paris
The Carr family is my SECOND family nominated for the family of the month of October! They are the sweetest family with both daughters as ballerinas. What I love is that we could honor their love and dedication to ballet with their outfits, as well as show their personality.
It was a chilly day and we definitely put jackets on between shots but you’d NEVER know! These beautiful ladies rocked the show and to this day, are some of my favorite Parisian family portraits I’ve done.
Where We Photographed This Ballet Session in Paris
- Trocadéro, for the classic full view of the Eiffel Tower. At sunrise the esplanade is almost empty, which gives a dancer room to move. Read our Trocadéro sunrise photoshoot guide.
- Pont Alexandre III, with its ornate lamp posts and golden statues.
- The Louvre, where the pale stone makes tulle and pointe shoes stand out.

Tips for a Ballet Photoshoot in Paris

- Bring what you dance in. These sisters wore tulle dresses, a black tutu and their pointe shoes, so the photos honor their love and dedication to ballet and still show their personality.
- Pack a jacket. It was a chilly day and we definitely put jackets on between shots, but you would never know.
- Go early. Just after sunrise, the monuments are quiet and the light is soft.
- Mix dance portraits with family portraits. Mom and Dad belong in the photos too.

Paris Ballet Photoshoot Questions
For this session we photographed at Trocadéro in front of the Eiffel Tower, on Pont Alexandre III and at the Louvre. All three have open space for dancing and classic Paris architecture behind you.
Yes. This session mixed ballet portraits of the two sisters with relaxed portraits of the whole family. Tell us what your children love and we plan the session around it.
Bring what you dance in: a leotard, a tutu or tulle skirt, and pointe shoes if you are en pointe. Bring a jacket to stay warm between shots.
Just after sunrise. The monuments are quiet, there is room to move, and the light is soft. All our outdoor sessions are in the morning.
Mini sessions run 30 to 45 minutes in one neighborhood. Full sessions run up to 2 hours and cover two neighborhoods.
