As a portrait photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless individuals in their best light. Over the years, I’ve come to understand the importance of maintaining up-to-date professional headshots, which is something I LOVE doing.
It’s so fun and SO empowering for everyone involved. I think there’s something really cool and powerful about doing a solo shoot with the goal of having portraits that show only yourself without any distractions. It’s your time to shine!
You might be wondering, “Do I really need to update my headshots that often?”
The answer is a resounding YES, and let me share why.

Our appearance naturally changes over time.
Whether it’s a new hairstyle, a change in fashion, or simply the natural aging process, our outward appearance evolves. Your headshot should accurately represent who you are at the present moment.
I consistently have portraits taken of myself for this reason. Even subtle changes are important to include. And new headshots just feel fresh, like you can reinvent yourself if you want to. Think of it as the Spring cleaning of photography. It’s time to throw out the old (and by this I mean archive) and then revamp your profile with something fresh and new. It just feels good.
