I get SO excited when winter fades away and spring arrives in Paris. Longer days, blossoming flowers, people chatting and laughing under the Eiffel Tower.
As the city sheds its winter chill and bursts into bloom, Paris becomes even more enchanting, with its charming gardens, lively streets, and vibrant festivals. It’s time to say goodbye to cold weather and hello to sunny days, wine tastings, photoshoots, and luxurious meals.
What to do in the Spring in Paris:
One of the things I love about Paris is how it’s constantly changing. There are so many creative people here that it’s impossible to get bored. Every season offers new restaurants, new community events, new scenery, and an invitation to participate in anything you’d like! It’s honestly the best thing in the world. Every day here feels like a “choose your own adventure book!”
So, here are 5 springtime surprises in Paris that you absolutely shouldn’t miss in 2025. And you can access pretty much all of them with public transportation (you can always find a metro line).
1. The 400th Anniversary of Jardin des Plantes
Ugh, I’ve missed outdoor activities! Paris is home to some of the most picturesque gardens in the world, and the Jardin des Plantes (Botanical Garden) is an absolute must-visit in spring. Along with the Luxembourg gardens, this is probably my favorite. Visiting public parks in Paris is the best way to really experience the spring changes. This hidden gem comes alive with colorful flowers, magnolia trees in full bloom, and lush greenery, making it the perfect backdrop for family photoshoots. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city while enjoying the beauty of nature. If this is your first trip to Paris, you can’t miss Jardin des Plantes. Seeing the beautiful gardens of Paris is just as important as visiting the famous landmarks, like the moulin rouge, pont neuf, arc de triomphe, grand palais, notre dame, and the river seine.
In more exciting news, the garden is celebrating its 400th anniversary this year! Make sure to check out the special exhibitions and events, including a botanical art exhibit and guided tours that dive deep into the history and importance of these historic plants. If you’re visiting Paris in 2025, you picked the perfect time to see the garden!
Tip for families: The garden also features a natural history museum, a small zoo, and a maze that little ones will love, making it a wonderful stop for family fun.
2. 2025 French Open for Tennis
Hey tennis fans! The 2025 French Open is taking place from May 25 to June 8! It’s one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, and an event every sports fan should experience at least once. Held in the iconic Roland Garros Stadium, this Grand Slam is renowned for its unique clay courts, where the world’s top tennis players battle it out in an intense and thrilling atmosphere.
Family Friendly Kids Activites in Paris this Spring
Whether you’re watching the heavy hitters like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Iga Świątek, or catching the rising stars in action, the energy and excitement are unmatched. Plus, Paris in the springtime is the perfect backdrop to enjoy a day at the tournament, with its lively atmosphere, incredible food, and the charm of the city all around you.

3. Night of the Museums
This is an opportunity I’m so excited about!
The Nuit des Musées (Night of Museums) is scheduled for May 17, 2025 and allows visitors to explore some of the city’s major museums and galleries after hours, all for free.
The Nuit des Musées offers a unique opportunity to experience Paris’s cultural treasures in a completely different way. Wander through the Louvre museum, Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou, and many other renowned institutions as they come alive with special exhibits, performances, and installations throughout the night. Whether you’re a history buff, art lover, or simply someone looking to experience something different, Nuit des Musées turns a typical museum visit into a magical adventure. Not to mention, free admission! So you can learn things at no additional cost to your trip!
So, grab your friends or family, and get ready for an unforgettable evening of culture, discovery, and enchantment in the City of Lights!
4. Spring Fashion Week and Family-Friendly Fashion Events
Paris is always at the forefront of fashion, and early spring brings some of the most glamorous cultural events in the city. Paris Fashion Week takes place in the season of cherry blossoms, warm temperatures, and sometimes rainy days. This event in the city center attracts fashion lovers from all over the world. While the major runway shows might not be family-friendly, there are family fashion events happening all over the city in 2025, including children’s fashion shows, pop-up shops, and special activities where you can discover Parisian chic in the most stylish ways. French people love fashion week and of course it’s understandably one of spring’s tourist attractions.
If your family is into fashion, head over to the Le Marais district, where pop-up stores will showcase Parisian fashion for all ages, and concept boutiques will offer exclusive, one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s a great way to bring a little Parisian style home with you.
Tip for families: Don’t miss out on kid-friendly fashion workshops where your little ones can make their own Parisian-inspired accessories—perfect for a souvenir!
