For maternity photos in Paris, combining an outdoor walk with a few portraits by a window at home gives you two completely different looks in one session. As a Paris photographer, I photographed this couple in the 6th arrondissement: on the streets, under the trees, and in soft window light.

They Met in French Class in Paris
Baby bumps are always so exciting to photograph, especially when I get to meet the baby! I had a really great time getting to know these two, hearing about how they met while taking French classes here in Paris. Him: German. Her: Japanese. Their photo session was filled with funny anecdotes about their life together and falling in love on the banks of the Seine.
It’s all very romantic. N’est pas?
Outdoor Maternity Photos in the 6th Arrondissement
The 6th is our neighborhood, home to Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Luxembourg Gardens. It has quiet squares, tree-lined garden paths and the Seine close by, all within a short, easy walk.
Indoor Maternity Portraits by the Window
Back inside, we used nothing but a tall window and sheer curtains. A silhouette in profile shows the shape of the bump beautifully, and the light is soft enough for close-ups.

Tips for Indoor and Outdoor Maternity Photos
- Wear something fitted outdoors, so your bump shows. A navy dress and his striped sweater worked beautifully together.
- Bring a simple top or bralette for the window portraits.
- Plan a short walk. One neighborhood is plenty.
- Tell your story. How you met, where you fell in love. It shows in the photos.
