When my clients get in touch with me asking about having a photo session at home I always do a little “Yipee” in my head.. I LOVE working with families in their natural environment. Everyone is relaxed and the kids LOVE showing off and doing things that normally they wouldn’t be allowed to do (Like jumping on the bed!). Meeting this sweet family was just like that. The kids couldn’t wait to introduce me to their beloved stuffed animals and show me how they could read so well in English!
So. Stinking. Sweet.
After spending a few hours together I quickly got to know this lovely family! Their home is filled with laughter, light and silliness. The kids are constantly loving on their parents and vice versa. Meeting people like this make my ‘job’ so cool and worthwhile.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIP: If you’re trying to get some fun authentic photos of your own children, ask them what THEY want to do! Whether it be showing you their recent school project that they’re so proud of or perhaps that they learned to do a cartwheel, you will get real expressions with a time capsule of NOW that you will happily look back on.
