I’m so happy you’re here!

When I moved to Paris in 2013 with two suitcases and a camera for a Frenchman who I had fallen in love with, I could never have imagined where this journey would lead.

After my own battle with cancer, my perspective changed. I realized that photographs are never only about the day they’re taken. They’re about the years that follow. They become reminders of the people we love, the moments we never want to forget, and the stories we hope will be passed down long after we’re gone.

That belief shapes everything we do.

Whether we’re creating artwork for your walls, designing an heirloom album, or helping preserve decades of family memories through The Digital Edit, our purpose is always the same: to create something your family will treasure for generations.

Who we are

A Paris atelier, personally led.

Katie Donnelly Photography is a Paris-based portrait atelier creating joyful, natural, and iconic photography for families, couples, and solo travelers who want more than just photographs.

Founded by photographer, owner, and Creative Director Katie Donnelly, our atelier has welcomed clients from around the world for more than a decade. As the business grew, Katie faced a choice: keep the dream small enough to do alone or build a team that could carry it forward.

A dream gets bigger when it’s shared.

Today, Katie works alongside a team of photographers, artists, and client concierges who share her belief that photographs should tell your story, make you feel something, and live beautifully in your home for generations.

Our photographers have each been personally trained by Katie in the artistic style and approach that define Katie Donnelly Photography. Our Client Concierges guide each client from the first conversation through the arrival of their finished artwork, making sure every detail is handled with warmth, care, and intention.

Every week, the team comes together to review client sessions, share ideas, and ensure that what leaves the atelier represents the very best of Katie Donnelly Photography.

The Modern Muse was born from a different belief.

This is not about becoming someone else. It is about seeing yourself fully, perhaps in a way you never have before.

Born in Paris and created within the privacy of our intimate atelier, The Modern Muse is a refined editorial approach to portraiture rooted in storytelling, identity, and self-recognition. Through soft light, movement, and thoughtful direction, we create portraits that honor your strength, your softness, your sensuality, your contradictions, and everything that makes you uniquely you.

Here, the Muse is not a myth. She is every woman who steps into our atelier. She is the author of her story, not the ornament of someone else’s.

We photograph each woman as the Muse she already is.

The experience is relaxed, collaborative, and alive. We move. We laugh. We experiment. You are guided throughout, so you never need to know how to pose or wonder what to do next.

From the moment you introduce us, our team takes care of everything. We get to know your clients, prepare them for their session, photograph them throughout Paris, and welcome them back to our Saint-Germain-des-Prés atelier just a few hours later for their cinematic portrait reveal.

You make the introduction. We take exceptional care of them from there.

And the relationship doesn’t have to end in Paris.

Through The Digital Edit, we can also transform photographs from the journeys you’ve created around the world into beautifully curated heirloom albums and museum-quality artwork. The African safari they’ll talk about forever. The Italian honeymoon. The multigenerational trip to Japan. Years of family travel waiting on phones and in the cloud.

One preserves the journey they’re about to take. The other gives the journeys they’ve already taken a lasting place in their lives.
