The 5 Best Gardens/Parks for Kids in Paris (and why) - Paris with Kids by Photographer, Katie Donnelly
In a city one of the best things is that kids don’t have to be in a car, you get to walk or metro everywhere! This means you’re outdoors more and kids are ACTIVE. But everyone knows that you have to pair cultural time with outdoor/free time. Let those little legs run free!!!
Paris is amazing for this because there are so many enclosed parks!
Some of My Favorites Are:
1. Palais Royal - enclosed, things to climb on, in the back garden there are sand pits and a fountain with ducks.
2. Jardin du Luxembourg - enclosed, there is also a large fenced in playground inside the garden that’s brand new! You’ll need to pay to get in (I think it’s 50 cents a kid). There’s also an old vintage merry go round. Really beautiful and lots of space to bring a ball and play. Also good for picnics in the summer. Has a few fountains with ducks. Love love love.
3. Tuileries - enclosed, very busy, normally there’s some sort of carnival or Ferris wheel going on for kids. There’s a merry go round!
4. Jardin des Plantes - enclosed and has tons to offer: zoo, natural history museum, maze, tons of flowers and places to run. An absolute gem.
5. Jardin d’acclimatation- inside the bois de Boulogne. Enclosed, have to pay to get in but once in it’s amazing: rides, animals, green space. It’s on the 1 metro line which runs through the center of Paris so relatively easy to get to!
